Howdy! Welcome to the Kay’s Acres Horseback Trail Ride!

Let us tell you a little bit about your horseback riding adventure, and what to expect while hittin’ the dusty trail at Kay’s Acres.

Upon arrival, we ask that you park in the gravel parking lot by the yellow parking spot indicators. Make your way down the gravel pathway towards the white fence under the yellow umbrella. This is where we will conduct your safety brief, prior to entering the area where you will mount your horses.

At the barn your trail guide will pair you with your horse based on compatibility. We can accommodate riders up to 300lbs, most ages, and parties up to 7 horseback riders. For larger groups, please call for special accomodations.

Once paired with your horse a brief arena orientation will be held by your trail guide explaining how to safely and comfortably communicate with your horse--what buttons to push and when, making your horseback trail riding experience the best one ever!

From the arena we will navigate through our beautiful pastures toward the trails. For those who have purchased our photo package this area will be the first of several photo opportunities taken by your trail guide with a late model mobile device. Those who have not purchased our trail ride photopack may take pictures with their own devices before and after the trail ride in designated areas. However, for your safety and per policy, electronic devices must not be accessible during your ride. This allows for situational awareness without distraction, keepin' an eye out for those low lying branches! Yee-Haw!

Once through the pastures trail riders will ride our horses through another gate and towards the woods. This is where the wooded portion of your trail ride adventure begins! You will ride through the horseback trails of Kay’s Acres & Maria’s Guesthouse, crossing foot bridges specially made for horse crossing.

At the conclusion of your horseback ride you will you will be led back to the arena to dismount. Your horse will be taken back to the barn by our trail guide or one of their assistants. Once cleared by your trail guide, you will be welcomed in the barn to pet your horse. Carrots and Apples are welcome to be brought from home to feed the animals. Before leaving, take the time to enjoy our petting zoo farm friends! And don't forget...
